Vale Don Hay

We have been advised of the passing of Don Hay, a valued member of the FESR War
Memorial Foundation Committee providing counsel and guidance for the establishing of the
Memorial.
He was also a stalwart of the FESR Navy Association, and made a significant contribution to
the veteran community over many years.
Don was born in Alberton South Australia, and served in the RAN from 1956 to 1962. He
then served in the South Australian Police Service for 30 years attaining the rank of
Superintendent on retirement.  He was a founding member of FESR Navy Assoc, both on the
National level and here in South Australia having held the positions of President and Vice-
President from 2000 until his death.
